M.I.Nature Wellness Hack #5 – Eat & Go

A lot of my friends have asked me how I’ve managed to keep the pounds off even after four kids. I’ll let you in on my little secret today. It gives me results even when I’ve over eaten, haven’t exercised in a couple of days or when life gets too hectic.

I’ll be really honest, it might not be the most enticing idea, but it works.

My #1 Secret for staying fit is: Move after all your meals!

You see, the body was design to digest food in an upright position. When you sit or lie down right after eating, your digestive system is too cramped or not in the right position, which can lead to indigestion, gas reflux, etc… Most importantly, the food you ingest gets transformed into stored energy instead of active energy. Basically, the meal turns into fat that goes straight to your abdomen or hips!

But I get it, who wants to move after eating!? Especially after you overeat! I know it’s painful sometimes, really painful and you really really REALLY don’t feel like it.

So, here’s some of my tricks on how to get active after meals: - Blast the music and dance while you do dishes or tackle the chores. - Go for a walk! It doesn’t take much effort, and the fresh air will help you feel good & digest! - We love to play tag right before meals! (If you exercise before meals, the food will be right away used up to replenish the energy you wasted.)

Remember, the trick is to move but nothing excessive. Just enough to kick start the digestive process.
